ELEVATING CLIENT COLLABORATIONS – Sustainable service of ferings

Learn more about this project

Enhancing Canada ’ s EV infrastructure

Various Locations in British Columbia , Saskatchewan , Manitoba , Ontario

Featured partner : Higher Ground Consulting ( HGC ) , an Englobe company

As part of Canada ’ s transition to cleaner transportation , HGC led the design and installation of Level   3 electric

vehicle ( EV ) charging stations at select petroleum retail locations across Canada for a major petroleum retailer

through the federal Natural Resources Canada ( NRCan ) EV Charging Program . To   support this nationwide

initiative , the Client engaged HGC as the primary consultant to lead engineering design across multiple sites .

The   work expanded to supporting the client on a variety of   sites   across the United States as well .

The HGC team provided comprehensive civil and electrical engineering services , along with strategic

coordination among municipalities , utilities , and site operators . The work included site layout planning and

hazardous zone classif ication , civil and structural design of foundations and equipment pads , electrical routing

and switchgear design , grounding studies , and integration of emergency stop controls – ensuring the safe ,

ef fective deployment of high - speed charging infrastructure within active retail environments .

Through this work , the HGC team played a key role in expanding accessible EV charging across Canada , helping

reduce barriers to electric vehicle adoption and supporting national emissions reduction goals . The project

ref lects a practical step toward decarbonizing transportation infrastructure and demonstrates how collaboration

between industry , government , and engineering partners can accelerate Canada ’ s shift toward a lower - carbon

future .
