At Englobe we celebrate our team members through an internal awards program intended to highlight the people who, through their work, attitude, and day-to-day behaviour, make a difference. There are currently three categories:
- the Englobe Excellence Award
- the Inspiration-ELLE Award
- and the Dare.Care.Change Award.
Considered one of our most prestigious levels of recognition, the Dare.Care.Change Award honours an employee who:
- dares to do things differently
- radically cares for their colleagues, clients, and community
- leads positive change.
Our Dare.Care.Change Award winners not only make a substantial impact within their team and office, but in their community and for the environment, too.

2022 Award Winner: Lindsay Freckleton, Calgary, Alberta
At work and in the community, Lindsay is a force for good who dares to embrace change and add in a flair for innovation. She wholeheartedly embraces the ethics of hardwork, inclusivity, and continuous improvement and deliberately champions the Englobe value of “one for all and all for one”.
One of her most notable achievements is the robust recycling program she helped her team put in place which diverts construction material waste and paper products from landfill. Celebrating Creativity and Strengthening Communities through Employee Recognition Awards
To align with our vision to build a sustainable future and support the communities where we live and work, each year we partner with an Indigenous artist to produce a custom designed art piece for the Dare.Care.Change Award recipient.
The decision to work with local Indigenous artists is intentional and impacts the community in ways that go beyond visibility for the artist. We are proud to collaborate with a different Indigenous artist annually for the Englobe Awards program because this partnership has many community benefits:
- Economic Growth. Supporting local artists has a direct impact on the local economy.
- Nurture creativity. It ensures that future generations have access to perspectives that make our communities unique.
- Cultural identity. By supporting local artists, we encourage the growth of a vibrant and diverse creative scene.
- Community engagement. We help build stronger, more connected communities, where creativity is celebrated and valued.
- Personal connections. By building relationships with local artists, we become part of their artistic journey, fostering a sense of pride and ownership in their achievements.

The 2024 Dare.Care.Change Award Featured Artist - Alan Syliboy Mi’kmaq Artist, Millbrook Nova Scotia
In 2024, we partnered with Indigenous artist Alan Syliboy to craft a one-of-a-kind Englobe Dare.Care.Change Award art piece. Created exclusively for the Englobe Awards program, the finished art piece is breathtaking, intricately connected to our values, and steeped in meaning.
Alan Syliboy is a talented Mi’kmaq artist from Millbrook, Nova Scotia whose work contributes to broader conversations surrounding environmental impacts, and as he sees it, our duty to protect and preserve.
When speaking about the art piece he created for our award winner, Alan Syliboy shared more about his reasons for choosing to make the whale the focal point of the painting. “The whale’s spirit is the earth’s record keeper for all time,’ explains Alan, “and as a totem, the whale teaches us about listening to our inner voice.”

More than anything, the painting is a visual representation of how important it is for all of us to be authentic and follow our own truth. For Alan, the whale is an important part of our natural environment and is an animal which requires our relentless and unwavering care and protection. Encouraging us to be reflective by looking inward, the whale symbolizes how our emotions, for better or worse, impact everyday life in different ways.
