We are delighted to announce that Englobe is the proud recipient of this year’s prestigious Maurice Pollack Award in the Large enterprise category!

 

It was yesterday during the awards gala, in the presence of the Quebec Minister of International Relations, Francophony and Minister of Immigration, francization and integration, Nadine Girault, as well as members of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) and the Féderation des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ), that Englobe won the Maurice-Pollack award for our “exceptional actions in managing ethnocultural diversity”.

 

“At Englobe, we firmly believe that together we are better and that diversity makes us stronger. We believe that to be successful we must work hand in hand with the communities around us,” said Marie-France Lavallée, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Marketing and Communications during her speech at the gala held in Montreal on October 18th.

Our efforts to warmly welcome newly immigrated people or those from ethnocultural minority backgrounds into our company consist of, among other initiatives, mentoring, visits to discover the city and its main services, accompanying employees in their permanent residence process, as well as organizing summer BBQs to encourage socialization in a different context and to maintain good ties among colleagues.

 

 

First Nations collaboration

 

Whether through our expert services for the maintenance and construction of new infrastructure, or through our achievements in environmental remediation, Englobe has been working in close collaboration with Indigenous Peoples for over 30 years.

 

Englobe’s work with First Nations communities is above all about developing long-term human and cultural relationships. Our strategy is to develop meaningful partnerships with Indigenous organizations and to maximize the employment of local Indigenous people on our projects. In Quebec, Englobe regularly collaborates with First Nations communities such as the Innu, Eeyou Istchee, Cree First Nations and Huron Wendat.

 

To maintain our practices according to the highest standards and best practices of the industry, our Human Resources team also follows regular training on diversity. For example, to better understand the Indigenous reality and recruitment practices, candidate selection and integration at a distance.
